1. Vasudha Foundation, India and US (Lead Role)

Vasudha Foundation is a not for profit organisation set up in April 2010 with the belief in the conservation of Vasudha, which in Sanskrit means the Earth, the giver of wealth and with the objective of promoting sustainable consumption of its bounties.

Vasudha Foundation works primarily in the clean energy and climate policy space, at the sub-national and international levels. Some of the activities undertaken by the Foundation include facilitating the preparation of the Energy and Urban Development sections of State Climate Actions Plans for a few states, preparation of district energy plans for a couple of districts, creating pilot business models for clean energy access solutions amongst others.

2. Climate Analytics, Berlin (Global Technical Partner)

Climate Analytics is a non-profit organization based in Berlin which brings together interdisciplinary expertise in the scientific and policy aspects of climate change.

Some of the key activities of Climate Analytics include, synthesizing and advancing scientific knowledge in the area of climate change science, policy and impacts; providing science and policy support to the Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States in international climate negotiations, and the tracking and analysing the effectiveness of national climate policies globally with the Climate Action Tracker.

The Core Team From Vasudha Foundation and Climate Analytics

Srinivas Krishnaswamy: Srinivas is an economist by training, has over a decade of experience working on the issue of economic reforms, sustainable development and environment issues.

He set up Vasudha Foundation in January 2010, with an aim to promote environment -friendly, socially just and sustainable models of development by focusing on alternative technologies and lifestyle solutions. The foundation is currently working on a wide range of projects around renewable energy, energy efficiency and policy related campaign and lobby both at the national and international level, while promoting green and alternative technologies at the grassroots level creating the crucial link between energy and poverty alleviation.

Raman Mehta: Raman serves as an external advisor to the equity project. He has over two decades of experience working in the field of climate change and issues pertaining to sustainable development.

Siddharth Chatpalliwar: Siddharth holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Delhi. Prior to joining Vasudha Foundation he worked as an Analyst in the Climate Change and Energy Policy practice of Emergent Ventures India, where his role included interacting with the industry, government bodies, and multi-lateral agencies to identify and implement potential solutions for mitigating climate change.

Dr. Bill Hare: Dr Bill Hare is a Climate Scientist with twenty-five years experience in the science, impacts and policy responses to climate change and stratospheric ozone depletion. He is a founder and CEO of Climate Analytics, a non profit company based in Berlin, which was established in 2008 to synthesize and advance scientific knowledge in the area of climate change and provide state-of-the-art solutions to global and national climate change policy challenges.

Dr. Michiel Schaeffer: Dr. Michiel Schaeffer is a biophysicist and received his PhD in Dynamic Meteorology at University of Utrecht, The Netherlands, specializing in the interactions between atmosphere, ocean, ecosystems and society. He worked as senior researcher on Earth System science at the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). He brings high level scientific skills, experience in the international climate policy world, a broad understanding of climate policy and science, high capacities in science communication, presentation and writing, and experience in managing small teams of scientists developing state of the art models.

Marie Lindberg: Marie Lindberg is a climate policy analyst for Climate Analytics in Berlin. She is part of the Climate Action Tracker (CAT) team, assessing plegdes and national policies for the international negotiations. Marie holds a masters in sociology from the University of Oslo and she also studied political science at the Free University of Berlin and resource economics at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences.
